Sin embargo, el tiempo acabó demostrando que el alto coste de fabricación, la pérdida de espacio y especialmente, la necesidad de modificar en exceso el diseño del coche para albergar el techo duro eran poderosos motivos para explorar otros formatos. No quiere decir esto que los techos duros retráctiles no sean un buena opción, simplemente, no son la única.
Por eso Citroën ha sacado al mercado en DS3 Cabrio, un descapotable de techo de lona corredizo que quiere aunar lo mejor de todos los mundos. No se pierde funcionalidad, se disfruta prácticamente igual que en un descapotable, y además los costes de fabricación son más contenidos (respecto al techo duro retráctil y al tradicional techo de lona).
No es la primera vez que esta solución se ha llevado al mercado, pero es verdad que hay pocos coches que cuenten con ella (sà cuenta con ella, por ejemplo, el Fiat 500C, que por cierto, podemos considerar como el competidor más directo).
Pues bien, Citroën ya ha anunciado los precios de partida de su nuevo modelo, que respecto a la versión DS normal, suponen un desembolso medio de 1.500 euros, a lo que habrÃa que restarle el aumento de equipamiento.
El rango de precios se sitúan entre los 16.930 euros para el Citroën DS3 VTi 82 CV Desing, y los 22.850 euros del THP 155 CV Sport.
