Aprovechando la inminente celebración del Salón del Automóvil de Ginebra, la marca italiana ha desvelado la versión europea del Fiat 500L Trekking, un modelo que deriva del nuevo monovolumen italiano y que tiene ciertas modificaciones para facilitar la circulación fuera del asfalto.
Se trata como decimos de una versión que cuenta con algunas modificaciones estéticas, pero también mecánicas, lo que resulta sorprendentemente grato. En cuanto a las primeras, el Fiat 500L Trekking se distingue de la versión que ya conocÃamos por montar algunos detalles decorativos en su exterior, como unos parachoques rematados en plásticos en su parte más cercana al suelo, lo que puede evitar que rallemos la carrocerÃa al circuclar, por ejemplo, por un camino con tierra suelta.
Sin embargo, y a diferencia de otros modelos con aspiraciones similares, este modelo sà cuenta con alguna modificación mecánica que podrÃa facilitar la circulación fuera del asfalto. Por supuesto son pequeños cambios, que en ningún caso convierten a este modelo en un todoterreno.
Para empezar sabemos que este Fiat cuenta con una mayor altura libre al suelo. Además la marca italiana ha desvelado que el control de tracción contará con una función añadida, que Fiat denomina Traction+, y que, por debajo de 30 km/h frena cualquiera rueda motriz si esta estuviera perdiendo tracción.
Nos es imposible predecir si este sistema resulta eficaz o no, y si proporcionará una ventaja al intentar avanzar sobre una superficie deslizante, pero al menos es un intento de la marca por no vender un modelo que sólo cuenta con modificaciones estéticas. Además todos los Fiat 500L Trekking cuentan con ruedas pensadas para circular por asfalto, pero también fuera de él (M+S). En dos semanas comienza el Salón de Ginebra, y seguramente tendremos más datos sobre la oferta de motores disponible y los precios en España.
