Hace ya algunas semanas que la opinión pública supo que dos grupos empresariales, Invesindustrial y Mahindra estaban interesadas en adquirir una porción accionarial de Aston Martin.
Finalmente ha sido la marca italiana la que ha desembolsado 185 millones de euros. Mahindra era capaz evidentemente de igual esa cifra, seguramente buscando imitar a TATA y Jaguar, pero el volumen más importante viene después. En concreto, Investindustrial tiene planeado gastarse 500 millones de euros en un plan estratégico para encauzar a la marca británica.
Algunos se preguntan cómo es posible que un grupo como Investindustrial, que no supo sacar rentabilidad a Ducati (acabó vendiendola a Audi por una cantidad realmente pequeña debido a los pasivos acumulados), quiera ahora meterse en una nueva área de negocio.
Sea como sea tendremos que esperar para ver como se cristalizan los planes del grupo italiano. Seguramente estos pasen por llevar al extremo la táctica usada por la propia marca para intentar sobrevivir: poner el sello británico a coches remozados, como ya se hizo hace unos meses como el Aston Martin Cygnet, que no es más que un Toyota iQ con un aspecto algo diferente con un precio escandalosamente alto. Veremos.
