Alfa Romeo ha anunciado que siguen llegando mejoras tecnológicas para sus modelos. Hace tiempo sólo las marcas premiun mejoraban sus versiones durante su ciclo de vida, el resto esperaba a sacar al mercado su nuevo modelo para incluir esas mejoras. Ford ha sido una de las primeras generalistas en copiar esta estratégia, y ahora lo hace Alfa Romeo.
Lo hace con un cambio de doble embrague, tipo DSG en Volkswagen, que denomina TCT, que consigue reducir notablemente el tiempo que se tarda en cambiar de marcha sin sufrir una interrupción en la potencia, lo que mejora las prestaciones, la comodidad, y aunque sea muy poco, el consumo.
No obstante es curioso como en ocasiones las modas tienen más fuerza que la racionalidad. Ahora todas las marcas quieren tener un cambio de doble embrague. Por muy bien valorados que estén estos cambio, representan una parte residual de las ventas, y sólo en el mejor de los casos permitirán recuperar lo invertido.
Entonces, ¿Porqué desarrollarlos?. Para dar una imagen innovadora. Por supuesto que este tipo de cambios han supuesto un avance, pero no es oro todo lo que reluce. Siguen siendo cambios automáticos, no manuales robotizados en los que se cambia el pedal del embrague por unas levas. Los cambios de doble embrague siguen teniendo algunos defectos: no siempre interpretan bien que quiere hacer el conductor, son demasiado intrusivos en el modo de conducción y además al acelerar el conductor no siempre obtiene una relación directa entre lo pisado que está el pedal y la respuesta del motor.
En la presentación de KIA preguntamos a un responsable de la marca si habÃan pensado en incorporar este tipo de tecnologÃa a sus coches, y nos respondieron que por el momento no lo habÃan pensado ya que se estaban centrado en conseguir un buen producto. Sinceramente de nada sirve tener un cambio de doble embrague si por ejemplo, la fiablilidad no ha alcanzado cotas aceptables.
