En el anterior post os explicamos como se ve Nurburgring desde fuera, que lo convierte en un circuito especial y único en todo el mundo. Ahora intentaremos transmitiros porque somos sólo algunos de los que piensan que es uno de los mejores lugares del mundo para disfrutar conduciendo.
Nada más superar unas barreras de control hay una chicane montada con conos que sirve como lanzadera hacia la primera curva. Coche que nos precede: un R8, empezamos bien. Despúes de decirle adiós (vamos en un A3 TSi 122 cv) y tras pasar el enlace con el circuito de F1 llegamos al auténtico Nordschleife. Primeras impresiones antes del km 2: la pista tiene mucho grip, los pianos son enormes y la valla de seguridad esta pegadÃsma al asfalto. No se si me alegrarme o asustarme. Según pasan las curvas y los metros la diversión va en aumento, no hay una curva igual a otra. Esta sensación se acentúa porque los cambios de rasante son continuos, y mucho más produnciados de lo que esperabamos. Hay curvas peraltadas, contraperaltadas, curvas seguidas de otras más abiertas o más cerradas, ciegas o semiciegas…no sabes cuál es la siguiente.
¿Qué hay después de este cambio de rasante? Pues una señal de peligro:
Los 5 km siguientes son menos revirados, pero no por ello más calmados. Constantemente hay que dejar pasar, apartandose a la derecha, a los coches que son más rápidos. Esto no siempre es tarea fácil porque las curvas se suceden y es complicado no aprovechar todo el ancho de la pista. Entre ellos nos pasó un Ring-Taxi, un servicio que BMW ofrece a cualquiera que esté dispuesto a pagar los 195€ que cuesta alquilar al coche y al piloto y que pueden disfrutar hasta 3 personas. El centro de pruebas de alto rendimiento que la compañia alemana tiene en Nurburgring, posibilita que puedan ofrecer este servicio. Encontrareis más fotos en el álbum de flicker donde colgaremos los mejores coches que vimos en el circuito, evidentemente, adelantándonos.
Y por fin, justo antes del km 14, una de las curvas más famosas del mundo, Karrusell. Una curva tan peraltada como bacheada y que confiere a Nordschleife carácter propio. En realidad hay 2 curvas de este estilo pero la primera es la más pronunciada. Sorprende lo que agarra el coche con ese nivel de peraltado, aunque aún más la manera en la que se pasa de esa curva a la recta que le sigue: por las bravas. La transición no es en absoluto suave y es fácil descolocar el coche si no se tiene en cuenta este factor.
A estas alturas ya nos hemos dado cuenta de que no estamos usando el coche adecuado. Lo cierto es que ningún coche de calle lo es. La relación peso-potencia no es la más adecuada y en cada curva las ruedas chirrÃan avisando de dónde está el lÃmite. Además el paso por curva es incomparablemente más lento con los coches que no adelantan, y por supuesto los frenos muestran sÃntomas de fatiga evidentes. En los siguientes km intento no exprimirlo demasiado, 23 km seguidos de este circuito para un coche sin una preparación especÃfica es pedir demasiado. Aún asà el coche nos ha dejado unas sensaciones muy buenas, ha aguantado el tipo en uno de los circuitos más exigentes del mundo y sin duda muetra una estabilidad y prestaciones muy buenas si se usa dónde se supone que tiene que hacerse, en la calle.
Al final, el recorrido se acaba y el objetivo se cumple. Sólo quedan los recuerdos y las ganas de volver. Hemos comprobado porqué Nurburgring es el mejor sitio para poner contra las cuerdas cualquier coche, porqué todo vehÃculo deportivo que se precie tiene que pasar este test, porqué son muchas las marcas que realizan la puesta a punto de sus nuevos vehÃculos en este circuito incomparable. 300.000 personas al año piensan como nosotros, y si aceptas un consejo, sé la 300.001.
