Las soluciones innovadoras de movilidad urbana han sido, especialmente en los últimos años, una fuente de trabajo importante para los fabricantes de automóviles y motocicletas.

Al igual que la Piaggio MP3 LT, el Peugeot Metropolis 400i cuenta con un eje delantero de doble triangulación, compuesto por 2 ruedas que basculan para permitir a la motocicleta tomar curvas inclinándonos, y un eje trasero con una sola rueda motriz. El objetivo es claro, mejorar la seguridad. Ganamos estabilidad sin perder el dinamismo y agilidad tÃpicos de un scooter.
Además del hecho de que este scooter se puede conducir con el permiso B, incluso a pesar de rendir 37 CV, el elemento diferenciador de este modelo probablemente sea las similitudes que guarda con un coche. El cuadro de mandos con dos diales y pantalla central, las luces diurnas delanteras tipo LED, el sistema de arranque por botón y el reconocimiento de llave, asà como el freno de estacionamiento eléctrico o el sensor de presión de neumáticos son algunas pruebas de ello.
No es de extrañar que esto sea asÃ, ya que Peugeot es el único fabricante de automóviles que ofrece un vehÃculo de estas caracterÃsticas, lo que le permite implementar su amplio conocimiento en la construcción tanto de motocicletas como de coches en un mismo concepto, que de hecho, está a medio camino entre ambos.
