La compañÃa alemana se apunta a la moda verde (blue para ellos) que recorre el mundo del automóvil en los últimos años. Más allá de la utilidad o incluso viabilidad de algunos de los modelos ecológicos que inundan el mercado, es fundamental crear imagen de marca comprometida.
Un responsable de Opel nos lo decÃa de manera clara hace unos meses, durante la presentación de Astra: “somos tan esclavos de las modas como cuaquier otro sector de la industria”. Y tenÃa razón. El caso es que las marcas se esfuerzan en convencernos de que cuentan con vehÃculos preparados para salvar el medio ambiente, casi a cualquier precio.
Ahora tenemos ante nosotros una versión eléctrica y enchufable del Golf, cuya versión deifinitiva se presentará en 2013. Para los que ya estén mirando el calendario, para esa fecha Toyota espera haber comercializado de manera generalizada su tecnologÃa de hidrógeno.
No hace falta decir lo ridÃculo de la comparación entre el concepto de baterÃa recargable, que en este caso declara 150 km de autonomÃa, con el de la pila de combustible. Ya hemos hablado alguna vez del hidrógeno en Sobreviraje, y como dijimos entonces, será una gran revolución porque no revolucionará nada en nuestras vidas.
El problema de los eléctricos enchufables es que por mucho que se esfuercen Volkswagen o el Ministerio de Industria, el concepto de recarga no se adapta a nuestro estilo de vida. Mientras tanto, tendremos que convencernos de que prototipos como el Golf blue-e-motion son el puente hacia un modelo definitivo.
